Besides being a beautiful plant, bamboo is durable and has been used even since ancient times to make useful objects and more. It thrives in Asia, America and Africa and is the favourite food of giant pandas.
The first straw that was made was made from a natural material, straw, which is where the name comes from. Then came the paper straw and then the plastic straw. Necessity brought evolution, just as today the need to normalize the climate crisis brings us to the point of finding new alternatives to reduce plastic and our environmental footprint.
All the plastic straws we have used in our lives still exist on our planet, carrying with them the harmful consequences for the ecosystem. If you bury a plastic straw it will be in the same place after 200 years, while if you bury a bamboo straw within 6 months it will have broken down.
